At the heart of our organization lies a powerful purpose: We Bring People Together To Help The Oppressed. While oppression takes many forms—physical, economic, social—we recognize that spiritual oppression is equally devastating, leaving communities without hope, purpose, or the transformative power of faith.
Reaching the Unreached
The nine villages of the Velyki Lazy region represent one of these spiritually underserved areas. Among 13,500 residents, there is currently no evangelical Christian presence—leaving a spiritual void we believe must be filled. These communities deserve access to the hope, community, and spiritual guidance that faith can provide.
A Collaborative Approach to Spiritual Freedom
True to our mission of bringing people together, we’ve formed a powerful partnership with New Hope Evangelical Church and Converge International to establish a church that will serve as a beacon of light throughout the region. Under the dedicated leadership of Pastor Viacheslav Nedzelskyi from New Hope, this initiative is already taking shape.
Local Leadership Making a Difference
We’re particularly excited about Sasha Voitenko, who has been appointed to lead youth outreach in the village. You can read about this ministry here.
As an internally displaced person (IDP) himself, Sasha brings personal understanding to the challenges these communities face. He and his family will become part of our Velyki Lazy IDP Community, creating authentic connections with local residents.
The Path Forward
The momentum continues to build as Converge prepares to send a specialized church planting team to join our efforts this August. This collaborative approach—bringing together local leaders, international expertise, and community members—exemplifies our commitment to addressing spiritual oppression through unity and shared purpose.
Our Commitment
By establishing this church, we’re not simply building a structure—we’re creating a foundation for spiritual renewal throughout the Velyki Lazy region. We believe that addressing spiritual oppression is fundamental to community transformation and personal healing.
When we say “We Bring People Together To Help The Oppressed,” we commit to fighting all forms of oppression, including spiritual darkness. The work in Velyki Lazy represents this commitment in action—bringing hope where it’s needed most.
