We praise God for opening a remarkable new door in our shared ministry! Advent Relief has joined the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance family, and through your partnership, Christ is extending His healing touch to communities devastated by war and displacement.
For a decade, Advent Relief has celebrated the miracle of medical volunteers traveling to vulnerable communities affected by conflict and disaster. Their journey began in 2015 serving thousands of refugees who arrived on Greek island shores aboard small rubber rafts. When Russian genocide began devastating Ukraine in 2022, they responded with four mobile medical clinics operating along the frontlines. Last year, the Lord brought their director, Sharon Harris, to Uzhhorod on a fact-finding mission to explore establishing another mobile clinic in the Zakarpattia back area.
Through your faithful prayers and support, Marina and I have been able to provide extensive tours of the possibilities and needs for such vital work. Sharon was deeply moved by the needs she witnessed, and Advent Relief has already hired a trauma counselor to begin serving these communities. She plans to move here temporarily to establish a mobile clinic that will serve victims of war as the conflict continues—yet Sharon sees an even greater need: serving the impoverished Rroma community.
The Lord has granted us the privilege of walking alongside Sharon as she explored a unique school in Perechyn, just outside Uzhhorod. Because of enduring constant attack, the Kramatorsk factory chose to relocate their entire operation to Perechyn, bringing their whole workforce with them. In an extraordinary act of compassion, they also transported an entire school to serve the families of these workers. One of the communities this mobile unit will serve is already being blessed by Christ’s work through your partnership. In the picture, the school director displays three flags: Kramatorsk, the Donetsk Region, and Ukraine—symbols of hope and resilience that your support helps sustain.
