A Christmas Story of Connection: How Transform Ukraine Brings Hope to Life

“We Bring People Together To Help The Oppressed”

This powerful mission statement of Transform Ukraine and its founding member One Collective came alive in a remarkable way this past Christmas season. While the story was delayed due to personal loss, its message of hope, connection, and transformative partnership deserves to be celebrated.

A Network of Compassion Takes Shape

The story begins with a beautiful example of our mission in action: Advent Relief, the newest member of the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance, recently established their national office in Uzhhorod. Their vital work—opening medical clinics to serve wounded soldiers and the growing population of internally displaced families—started with a single connection. They first learned about Hope And Life Ukraine, a valued Alliance member, who then introduced them to One Collective. From that initial meeting, a powerful partnership was born.

From Battlefields to Blessing Children

During a donor visit to America, she was approached by the Afghan Children’s Project Worldwide (ACPW). ACPW formed in 2008 to assist children in war-torn Afghanistan and has since expanded to Africa and Ukraine to helping the most vulnerable children, women, and refugees.

When Sharon shared our Alliance’s work in Uzhhorod, ACPW was moved.  They were coming already to Ukraine to deliver a mini-van to those vulnerable near the frontlines and wanted to do more.

ACPW generously donated funds to purchase Christmas gifts for vulnerable children served by the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance. The result was pure joy: twenty beautiful Christmas packages delivered to the children of Rainbow Home, a group home providing refuge for orphans. But the blessing didn’t stop there. Marina guided the ACPW representative to foster families and internally displaced children throughout our network, multiplying the impact of their generosity.

This Is How Transformation Happens

This Christmas story perfectly illustrates the power of One Collective’s model of community transformation:

  • Hope And Life Ukraine met Advent Relief
  • They introduced them to One Collective
  • Advent Relief moved their national office to Uzhhorod and joined our Alliance
  • They brought the Afghan Children’s Project Worldwide  into our network
  • ACPW came to minister to Rainbow Home and other vulnerable children

Each connection created another. Each partnership opened new doors. Each relationship multiplied the impact.

This is our mission in action. We partner with local change-makers, build bridges between organizations, and create networks of compassion that transform entire communities. Through collaboration rather than competition, through connection rather than isolation, we bring people together to help the oppressed.

The children of Rainbow Home, those foster families, and those displaced children experienced more than Christmas gifts—they experienced the power of a global community united in love and purpose. And this is just one story among many of how Transform Ukraine is bringing hope, healing, and transformation to those who need it most.

“We bring people together to help the oppressed”—one connection, one partnership, one transformed life at a time.
