June 9 – Georgian Professor Giving Back

Robert was a professor from Kyiv when Russia began dropping bombs on the city. He became a war correspondent for Georgian television until tanks blew up a bridge in front of his house and he decided it was time to leave. He arrived in Uzhhorod not knowing where to go but God brought him a taxi driver who happened to be one of the pastors of one of our 11 IDP centers. He spent twelve days in our center and then was offered a dormitory room at the Uzhhorod National University. After visiting a team of doctors we had brought over, it was apparent that he was not taking good care of his diabetes and was urged to check into a hospital. After a few weeks of recovery, he was out and wanted to give back to God. He has been organizing fundraisers for our troops and has become a friend of our centers preparing meals for our volunteers.
