One of our centers which housed 26 IDPs at its height is the Rainbow Family Home (RFH). The RFH had started decades ago as a transition home for orphan girls who aged out of the system. The vast majority of orphan girls turn to prostitution to survive outside of the orphanage. Transition Homes were created to teach them skills to survive in society. A second wing to the home had just been completed to open a Patranat, a temporary home for orphans waiting to be placed in Foster Care. RFH postponed the opening of the Patranat to house Ukrainian IDPs from the war. This created a huge burden on their limited resources which the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance stepped in to bring relief. Part of that relief was the installation of solar power panels to make the home energy independent. 1/3 of the funds were provided by Alliance members One Collective and Isaiah 19.
