UAF – Ukrainian Forces
RF – Russian Forces
MLRS – Multiple Launch Rocket Systems
Summary of the Events
The Battle for Lysychansk was lost as UAF retreated giving all of Luhansk region to Russia. UAF made some gains liberating another community in northern Kherson.
Belarus
The big question now is whether Belarus will declare war on Ukraine. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is in a bind. The people of Belarus are strongly opposed to joining Russia in a conflict with Ukraine and declaring war will cause him much trouble at home. But in defying Russia which is pressuring him to declare war on Ukraine also puts his rule in jeopardy. Lukashenko has been claiming that Ukraine has attacked Belarus giving him the red flag to declare war, but he is hesitating. If he does, Russian troops will be all over his country and he will always be consigned as a figurehead ruler after that.
Battle for the Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk)
Target Lysychansk/Siversk – UAF have retreated from Lysychansk and formed a new line of defense from Siversk to Spirne to Berestove to Yakovlivka. RF moved in Lysychansk immediately and advanced forward taking Zolotarivka and Verkhnokamyanka. RF are now in complete control of the Luhansk region.
Target Bakhmut – RF captured Klynove giving them fire control over the M-03 highway cutting off the major supply line to the Ukraine-held cities on the northern shore of the Vuhlehirsk Reservoir.
Target Kramatorsk/Slovyansk – RF continue to attempt to break through the Mazanivka-Dolyna-Bohorodychne UAF defense line defending Slovyansk in the north but are repelled one attack after another. RF fired two Smerch MLRS rockets on Kramatorsk Sunday evening, but they did not explode. Later in the day RF conducted massive shelling of Slovyansk with MLRS killing six civilians and wounding fifteen.
Expansion from Donetsk – Now that Russia has taken all of Luhansk, RF are increasing their attacks around Donetsk. RF has resumed their offensive in the direction of Novomykhailivka, but UAF are holding their position. RF is trying to break through UAF lines at Spartak and Pavlivka. They were unsuccessful at Pavlivka, but the fighting continues for Spartak.
Battle for Kherson
UAF liberated Ivanivka as they continue to push RF south from northern Kherson region. RF attempted to retake Potomkyne but were repelled.
Russian officials revealed that Russia plans on holding a referendum in the Kherson region as they did in Crimea to annex the region into Russia and giving them a land bridge to Crimea. The mayor of Kherson has been kidnapped to suppress opposition to their plans.
Battle for Kharkiv
RF tried to take back Dementiivka and Prudyanka north of Kharkiv but were unsuccessful. Maps I saw show Vesele back under Ukrainian control, although I read nothing that made that claim.
RF fired missiles on Kharkiv Sunday morning but there were no injuries. A private home and a school were damaged by a missile strike near Nova Bavariia. The 54-year-old woman who lived in the home was injured and taken to the hospital. RF also shelled Chuhuiv, Bohodukhiv, and near Izyum injuring four civilians. Then later in the day villages near Derhachi and Vilhivka were shelled killing three civilians and injuring another.
