Summary of the Events
UAF continue to mop up the Kharkiv region and have even crossed the Oskil River and are now preparing to liberate the northern Luhansk region and march and retake Lysychansk and Severodonetsk they lost nearly three months ago.
Battle for Kherson Region (Ukraine Offensive)
UAF responded to RF attacks on electrical and water infrastructure by attacking Russian command centers. At least five missiles were fired into the heart of occupied Kherson hitting the appellate court building where the occupation had a commander’s office.
Battle for the Donbas
Battle for Bakhmut – RF continue their assaults to capture Bakhmut and Avdiivka but without success.
Battle for Slovyansk – UAF continue their push to liberate Lyman which they have almost encircled. When Lyman falls, the road will be open to liberate Lysychansk and Severodonetsk.
Luhansk Liberation – UAF fired missiles into the center of occupied Luhansk striking the prosecutor’s office which is being used as a Russian command center. Now that Ukraine has crossed the Oskil River, the campaign to retake the northern Luhansk region is underway. Russia has beefed up their defense around Svatove.
Other Regions
Kharkiv – UAF liberated all Kupyansk on Friday crossing to the east side of the Oskil River.
Zaporizhia – Ukraine responded to Russia’s threat to increase missile attacks on civilian targets if Ukraine continues to strike Russian command centers by hitting a Russian weapon depot and an air force military base near occupied Melitopol.
Other News
Russia is hurting so bad for new ground troops that they have begun visiting prisons and offering criminals release in exchange for joining the Russian army. Russia’s regular army was criminal enough in how they treated Ukrainians under their occupation. Imagine the horrors ahead for those who will be under the thumb of hardened criminals.
The UN International Atomic Energy Agency board of governors have asked that Russian troops withdraw from the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant. Of the 35 countries on the board, only Russia and China voted against the resolution.
A mass grave containing the bodies of 440 victims has been discovered in the recently liberated town of Izyum. 99% of them were shot in the back of the head or had broken bones suggesting torture. The UN High Commissioner for Human Right’s office said they will send a team to investigate the mass grave.
President Vladimir Putin threatened Ukraine with an increase on attacks on civilian targets if Ukraine keep firing on Russian command centers.
International Support
European Union President Ursula van der Leyen said in an interview that she wants Russian President Vladimir Putin to face the International Criminal Court over war crimes in Ukraine.
And the money keeps coming from the U.S. which has now approved another $600 million in military aid for Ukraine which will include 37,000 rounds of artillery ammunition and the Himars rocket systems.
Germany will not be supplying the tanks that Ukraine requested, but they did approve delivery of 50 armored personnel carriers and two MLRS with missiles. Ukraine responded by criticizing Germany for supplying what they do not need and withholding what they do need. Poland also criticized Germany and accused them of hoping to restore normal cooperation with Russia.
The United Nations will bend their rules that require all speakers to be physically present by allowing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to address the General Assembly by video conference on September 21.
