Summary of the Events

RF sorties have dropped significantly over the last few days as temperatures drop and Ukraine continues to grab control of the skies with anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems arriving from Europe. The average has dropped to tens of missions per day compared to the height of 300 per day back in March. The heaviest fighting continues to be around Bakhmut and Avdiivka with both sides mobilizing more troops to the region.

Eastern Ukraine: (Eastern Kharkiv and Western Luhansk Oblast – UAF Counter-offensive)

It is confirmed that RF have entered Novoselivske, and the town is now under contest again.

Donetsk Oblast: (Russia’s Main Objective)

No major changes on the ground, but the fighting is intense.

Southern Ukraine: (Eastern Kherson, Southern Zaporizhia, and Western Donetsk)

No changes on the ground.

Other News

A new poll again shows most Russians (55%) favor peace talks with Ukraine. Only 25% support continuing the conflict. That is down from April when 80% of Russians supported continuing the conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his disappointment over the G7 and European Union countries placing a $60 cap on Russian oil stating it is too high, especially when Poland and the Baltic States has suggested. At $60, these countries will be investing about $100 billion a year into the Russian economy, making their support of Russia more than their support of Ukraine.

The International Atomic Energy Agency carried out a safety inspection of Ukraine’s Pivdennoukrainska Nuclear Power Plant and reported a high level of professionalism and in compliance to international operational and safety standards. They noted that the safety protocols worked smoothly after Russian missiles hit the site’s diesel generators on November 23.

Over 500 localities throughout Ukraine are still without power following weeks of Russian airstrikes and missile attacks on the electric grid. Kharkiv Oblast is the worst hit with 112 villages without power. The frontline regions of Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, and Luhansk are also suffering massive power outages. With temperatures dropping below freezing in those regions, it has become a dangerous situation. Nearly half of Ukraine’s energy grid remains damaged.
