- Russia dropped two guided aerial bombs and launched a missile at the third floor of a residential apartment at the village of Niu-York, Donbas Oblast injuring at least three people. Five people are still trapped in the rubble.
- Russia launched a drone against a residence in Beryslav, Kherson Oblast, injuring a woman.
Russian troops suffered an estimated 980 casualties in fighting today.

Donetsk Front – Initiative Russia – Current Targets: Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Novomykhailivka, and to advance from occupied Marinka
Avdiivka – There were no confirmed advances around Avdiivka, but Russian sources claimed Russian forces made some marginal advances just northwest of Avdiivka. A Ukrainian strike against a Russian vehicle carrying ammunition across a bridge connecting occupied Donetsk with Avdiivka collapsed one side of the bridge.
Around Marinka – Russian forces have advanced in the eastern outskirts of Heorhiivka (3 miles NW of Marinka).
Zaporizhia Front – Initiative Russia – Target: Recapture Robotyne
Positional fighting continues but there were no confirmed advances in the sector. Russian sources claim that Russian forces have advanced near Verbove, but this has not been confirmed.
Left Bank Front – Initiative Russia – Current Target: Recapture Krynky
Russian forces have advanced northwest of Krynky pushing Ukrainian forces back towards the Dnipro River.
Ukraine News
President Zelensky has arrived in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum and to begin preparing for a Global Peace Summit that he plans on inviting China to as well. Swiss President Viola Amherd met with Zelensky and pledged $1.75 billion for Ukrainian reconstruction efforts in 2025-2028.
Ukraine Ally Support
Ukraine and Estonia signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop and transfer new technology between both countries and build weapons within Estonian territory.
Russia News
Russia claimed that the A-50 command post plane was not shot down by Ukraine on Sunday but was shot down by friendly fire by Russia. Russia was trying to reassure their pilots that they were safe flying and not susceptible to Ukrainian attack. But it is not clear how that really reassures Russian pilots knowing that their own side is incompetent and might shoot them down. So, the Russian lie really does not improve the situation.
Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russia is recruiting 30,000 personnel each month which compensates for the 25,000 – 30,000 soldiers they lose each month as casualties.
The Russian State Duma has proposed a bill that would allow the Russian government to confiscate property from individuals convicted of spreading “fake” information (ie. criticism) about the Russian military.
Russian Ally Support
A North Korean delegation arrived in Moscow for an official state visit. The two Foreign Ministers of each country will meet to discuss how to deepen their alliance. Russia is dependent on North Korea for the artillery they need to fight Ukraine.
The Russian and Iranian Defense Ministers are also meeting to sign a Grand Interstate Treaty to further develop Russian-Iranian military-technological cooperation.
Life in Occupied Ukraine
Ukrainian partisans detonated a Russia military UAZ Patriot vehicle in occupied Melitopol injuring four Russian personnel and killing an unspecified number.
