Our ongoing partnership with Svoboda (Freedom) Church in Apostolove, a city near the front lines of the conflict, continues to bear fruit. In April, we completed our fifth semester of training, focusing on engaging with youth culture.
David, the dedicated youth pastor, led his team in a practical exercise during the training. Armed with questionnaires we developed, they ventured into the city to connect with local teenagers. The team was pleasantly surprised by the number of youth willing to engage in meaningful conversations, despite some initial hesitation. This valuable information will form the foundation of a targeted outreach strategy to better serve the young people of Apostolove.
However, we face unexpected challenges. David, who also contributes to our Velyki Lazy IDP Community construction project, along with other crew members, was forcibly conscripted into the Ukrainian military while en route to Uzhhorod. This action appears to contradict legal procedures, as our team members have diligently reported to the conscription office monthly and possessed valid documentation. We are actively pursuing legal avenues to secure their release.
We ask for your prayers for David and our construction team during this difficult time. Your donations will help us navigate these challenges and continue our vital work in Ukraine.
