The senseless attack left the community reeling, with education coming to a standstill for the 30,000 residents. Two of the schools were damaged beyond repair, while the third suffered severe damage. The kindergarten narrowly escaped destruction thanks to Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Despite the tragedy, the people of Apostolove refuse to let hope be extinguished. The Transform Apostolove Alliance (TAA), a collaboration between five evangelical churches, the acting mayor, and the directors of four city government departments, is stepping up to the challenge of rebuilding their community.
The TAA, supported by the NGO Transform Ukraine, recognizes the importance of restoring education for the children of Apostolove. They know that by providing a safe and nurturing learning environment, they can help the young generation heal from the trauma of war and build a brighter future.
With unwavering determination, the TAA is planning to clear the debris from the one salvageable school as their next project, paving the way for a certified building crew to repair the damaged structure.
