The Sister Church partnerships were developed to assist pastors during these difficult times.  Churches were devasted with a large portion of their people fleeing Ukraine for safety and another large portion being conscripted to fight on the front lines.  Add to these the economic devastation resulting in an increase in unemployment, and the churches were no longer receiving enough funds to pay their pastor a full salary.  Pastors were faced with finding alternative employment at a time when their congregation needed them the most and many displaced people were being added to their care.  The Sister Church partnership is designed for a Sister Church outside of Ukraine to come alongside a Ukrainian church and supplement their pastor’s salary so that they would not need to find another job and could continue to focus on the ministries of the church.

Currently we have 9 American churches and 2 European churches supporting 12 Ukrainian churches (one American church has come alongside two Ukrainian churches).  The amount of support depends on the ability of the international church and the needs of the local Ukrainian church.  Generally, we are asking churches to commit $375 a month for six months with the option to renew if desired.  Some churches near the frontline have been hit even harder and may need a Sister Church that provides $600 a month for six months.
