A Testament to God’s Faithfulness Through Partnership
After a year of caring for internally displaced Ukrainian families in eleven temporary shelter centers across the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance, Jesus opened our eyes to a profound truth: these precious families—driven from their homes by war—needed more than temporary refuge. They needed dignity, security, and a place to truly heal. What began as emergency relief evolved into something far greater as God redirected our path through longer-term and permanent solutions.
The Vision Takes Shape
Through your faithful prayers and generous support, the Lord provided breakthrough funding from the Visible Fund of One Collective, offering leadership to the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance. This divine provision launched the Transform Ukraine project—an ambitious initiative to construct permanent homes for IDP families who lost everything fleeing Russian occupation. In partnership with Sergey and Dima Holub, God birthed STUD Frame Homes—a name that tells its own story: “S” for Sergey, “TU” for Transform Ukraine, and “D” for Dima. Even the company’s identity honors the vision God placed in our hearts together.
The first fruits of your prayers came through grants from UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and our faithful partners at Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Together, we funded construction of the first three homes in what would become the Velyki Lazy IDP Community. Families who arrived with nothing—displaced, grief-stricken, uncertain—moved into homes so beautiful that they were overjoyed. Many remarked these dwellings surpassed even the apartments they’d left behind in war-torn regions. Already, one family has gotten back on their feet, purchased their own home, and achieved self-sufficiency. This is Jesus’s heart made manifest: restoring dignity and providing hope so families can rebuild their futures.
God’s Calling Deepens
As Christ drew us deeper into this work, a spiritual need became unmistakable. Within the thirteen villages surrounding Velyki Lazy, not a single evangelical church existed to shepherd these wounded souls. The Holy Spirit made clear this was no accident—He was calling us to launch Stage Two: establishing One Community Church in Velyki Lazy through partnership with New Hope Evangelical Church in Uzhhorod, fellow laborers in the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance. The Work Continues
Stage Three brought another demonstration of God’s faithfulness through your prayers: funding to build four more homes through UMCOR grants and our fruitful partnership with STUD Frame Homes. Through your partnership with Christ’s work here, one home stands ready for a family who will move in soon. Three more await completion—and this is where we humbly ask you to join us in the final push. These remaining homes need furnishing to transform them into true homes where families can heal and rebuild their lives.
Expanding the Miracle
Stage Four emerged through yet another stunning answer to your prayers: UMCOR blessed us with additional funding to construct an entire apartment complex with foundation and septic systems already completed. This remarkable facility will provide housing for another ten families, multiplying the reach of Christ’s love through your faithful partnership. Every dollar you’ve invested, every prayer you’ve lifted has brought us to this threshold. Now we invite you to help us cross the finish line together.
