Have you ever seen hope return to a child’s eyes? It’s a miracle we witness every day because of you.
When families fleeing war arrive at our IDP centers, the children’s faces tell a story that breaks your heart. Wide, vacant eyes. Confusion. Fear. They don’t understand why their world has shattered—they only know something terrible has happened as they watch their parents’ tears fall.
But then something beautiful happens.
Those same hollow eyes begin to sparkle again. Tentative smiles replace blank stares. Small shoulders that carried invisible burdens start to straighten. This transformation isn’t magic—it’s the power of your prayers and generosity flowing through our Transform Uzhhorod Alliance members who wrap these little ones in love.
And the miracles don’t stop there.
In the Rroma communities, children are born into a world that has already given up on them. Little hands that should be holding crayons instead dig through garbage bins beside their mothers, searching for anything to quiet their empty stomachs. Small voices that should be reciting lessons in school are forced to beg on cold streets while mothers watch anxiously from afar—another day without education, another day trapped in poverty’s cruel cycle.
This is where your compassion shines brightest.
In six Rroma churches throughout our Alliance, children who once knew only hunger now sit down to full, balanced meals. Children who had never dared to dream now learn in classrooms built by your generosity. Families who felt forgotten now receive food packages that sustain body and soul. And most precious of all—these children hear, many for the first time, that Jesus loves them completely, unconditionally.
Picture the community of Telman—hundreds of families living in makeshift shacks on an abandoned military base. Here, Pastor Stepan and Erika move through dusty pathways between homes, their arms full of supplies, their hearts fuller with purpose. They’ve given their lives to love these forgotten children, to be Christ’s hands and feet in this desperate place.
And behind them, supporting every step, stand partners like you.
This is why we created the Sister Church Initiative. We’ve seen the joy on both sides when churches like First Baptist of El Centro come alongside Church of Revival, forming bonds that transcend borders. These aren’t just partnerships—they’re lifelines of hope.
When you pray for us, when you give, you’re not just sending support to Ukraine. You’re wiping tears from small faces. You’re filling empty stomachs. You’re replacing fear with hope. You’re showing children who thought they were forgotten that they are precious, loved, and seen.
Thank you for being the hands and heart of Jesus to Ukraine’s most vulnerable children. The difference you’re making cannot be measured—but it can be seen in every smile that was once a tear, in every laugh that was once a sob, in every child who now believes in tomorrow.
