What a magnificent testimony to God’s faithfulness and perfect timing! Two years ago, when the Lord opened our hearts to seek a local church partner for the precious internally displaced families in our Velyki Lazy IDP Community, we found ourselves standing before an incredible harvest field. There, within a ten-kilometer radius, lay 13 villages with no evangelical presence—nearly 15,000 souls who had never heard the Gospel proclaimed in their midst. But our God, who sees what we cannot see and orchestrates what seems impossible, had already prepared the way for something beautiful.
Through His divine providence, Jesus connected us with New Hope Evangelical Church in nearby Uzhhorod, and together we stepped boldly into church planting among these forgotten villages. Then, in His perfect wisdom and timing, the Lord brought us Sasha—himself an internally displaced person who understood the hearts of these hurting families from his own experience. God had uniquely prepared Sasha to launch a powerful outreach ministry to the children and youth, becoming a bridge of hope between our community and these precious villages.
This summer became a season of unprecedented breakthrough as Sasha and his dedicated team conducted week-long day camps in each of the villages, reaching over 500 precious children with the transforming love of Christ! Day after day, we watched in amazement as young hearts opened to hear about Jesus, many for the very first time. The impact rippled through entire families as children returned home each evening, sharing the Bible stories and songs they had learned.
The crescendo of this miraculous summer came at our final camp right here in Velyki Lazy, where 120 children gathered with hearts wide open to receive God’s love. What overwhelming joy flooded our spirits as we heard these formerly unchurched children—who just one week earlier had never sung a worship song—lifting their voices at the top of their lungs, proclaiming “Our God Is A Great God!” Only Jesus could orchestrate such a beautiful transformation, turning empty villages into places where His name is now proclaimed. To Him alone be all the glory for this miraculous work among His beloved people, and thank you, dear partners, for standing with us in prayer and support as God writes this incredible story of redemption!
