New Hope Evangelical Church is a member of the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance and operates one of our six remaining centers for IDPs. They are also in the Alliance’s Sister Church Association partnered with the International Church of Ljubljana (Slovenia). In their recent report to their Sister Church, Pastor Vyacheslav shared about his trip to Europe to visit members of his church who are refugees and their Sister Church in Slovenia. He was most excited to share about the new leaders that are being raised up in their church with ten brothers and sisters entering seminary. These new leaders are desperately needed as many of the former church leaders have left Ukraine due to the war leaving a leadership vacuum. He shared about the church’s new ministry of visiting wounded soldiers in the local hospital to share the love of Jesus in both word and deed. They are praying about renting an apartment so that mothers and wives have a place to stay when they come to visit their wounded loved one. New Hope celebrates their third baptism of 2023. One man is a doctor who successfully broke his alcohol addiction in their rehab center. And another man was an athlete who came to Christ in the sports evangelism mininstry. He also asks for prayers as they continue to pray about their involvement in the One Community church plant in Velyki Lazy as part of our Velyki Lazy IDP Community.
