UAF – Ukrainian Forces
RF – Russian Forces
MLRS – Multiple Launch Rocket Systems
Summary of the Events
Time is not on Russia’s side. Five of the British anti-missile systems have now reached the front line, and UAF are destroying command centers, barracks, and weapon depots all over the Donbas and Kherson regions. The fiercest battles have been over Spirne and Siversk, but UAF continue to hold their ground with little loss. RF did manage to close in more on the Vuhlehirsk Power Plant, but UAF are still in control.
Belarus
With only 3% of the Belarusian population supportive of an invasion of Ukraine, it is highly unlikely that Belarus will officially join in the attack or allow Russia to stage attacks from their territory. The most Russia can hope for is the recruiting of Belarusian mercenaries who need the money.
Battle for the Donbas
UAF shelled a hotel in Krasniy Luch which was being used as a military barracks. At least 100 Russian soldiers were killed in the attack, but the death count will probably rise as many more received serious injuries.
Three air defense systems, four cruise missiles, five drones, seven artillery systems, 2 MLRS and eight combat vehicles were destroyed by UAF shelling on Monday along the Donbas front.
Target Siversk – RF gained full control of Berestove and attempted to further their gain by driving towards Ivano-Darivka but were stopped by UAF. UAF also repelled a two-prong attack on Verkhnokamyanske from Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamyanka. Heavy fighting continues over Spirne.
Target Bakhmut – The battle rages on for the Vuhlehirsk Power Plant. RF have inched closer and attempted to encircle it. They were somewhat successful by capturing Vershyna, but the assault on Semyhiria was repulsed and UAF troops can still be supplied. RF made a major two-pronged attack on Pokrovs’ke from Klynove and Volodymyrivka, but UAF held their ground and forced them back. A RF assault on Novoluhanske was also repelled.
Target Slovyansk – RF attempted an assault on UAF defenders of the high ground over Bohorodychne but were unsuccessful.
Battle for Kharkiv
RF attempted to retake Dementiivka but was repelled. RF also shelled the city of Chuhuiv in the south destroying city hall and a school. Three people have been pulled out of the rubble. No one was injured.
Battle for Kherson
Although the cloud of secrecy remains over the occupied Kherson region, Ukrainian officials have publicly stated that they expect the entire region to be liberated by September. Russia needs to hold onto the region to maintain their land bridge to occupied Crimea.
Without identifying the village, Ukraine has released some images of a liberated village within 40 kilometers of Kherson. Almost every home is destroyed, and the streets are littered with burnt out cars. And there is no sign of the people that once lived there.
All RF assaults in the region were repulsed. RF attempted to retake Andriivka and Bilohirka.
UAF conducted five airstrikes early Monday morning. In one, UAF destroyed another Russian S-300 missile system with an airstrike near Zelenotropynske. This system has been shelling Mykolaiv every night. UAF also destroyed a command and observation post and two weapon depots. 66 Russian soldiers were killed. Destroyed were five tanks, two howitzers and twelve vehicles.
Other Regions
Dnipropetrovsk – RF again fired MLRS from within the Zaporizhian Nuclear Power Plant on the city of Nikopol across the river. There were no casualties. Residential neighborhoods in the regional center of Dnipro and Zelenodolsk were also hit. Private homes and gas lines were destroyed. An agricultural enterprise was also hit. There were no casualties.
Volyn – UAF shot down 2 Russian drones patrolling along the border of Belarus.
