Ukraine 1 – Liberate Bakhmut
Russian sources reported that Russian forces have withdrawn from Andriivka but there is no evidence yet that Ukraine has liberated the settlement. Another Russian source also admitted that Ukraine is advancing south of Klishchiivka and now controls most of the settlement. Russian forces attempted to push Ukrainian forces back away from Orikhovo-Vasylivka (7 miles NW of Bakhmut).
Ukraine 2 – Drive to Berdyansk
Fighting has intensified northwest of Novomaiorske with Ukrainian forces making confirmed advances in the area.
Ukraine 3 – Drive to Melitopol
Ukrainian forces have made confirmed advances northeast and east of Novoprokopivka and west towards Verbove. Ukrainian forces also claimed to advance south of Robotyne.
Ukraine 4 – Liberate Eastern Kherson
Ukraine continues to land more and more small number of troops along the east bank of the Dnipro River.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a message to the world on Friday night admitting that Ukraine’s counteroffensive was going slower than planned but blamed it on the West for not supplying Ukraine with planes thus giving Russia air superiority, and the slowing of delivery of ammunition and other military support. He said that Russia is gaining resolve in the hopes that US elections will result in cutting off aid to Ukraine. He also said he was ready to hold elections in Ukraine if it were necessary even though the constitution does not require it because the nation is at war.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reiterated that Russia will not agree to renew the Black Sea Grain Initiative unless all its demands are met. Russia will continue to target Ukraine’s agricultural infrastructure to destroy its ability to feed the world. Both the UK and NATO leaders responded that they would continue to secure a safe corridor through the Black Sea to defend civilian shipping.
The Group of 20 (G20 nations) adopted a weak consensus calling for a “durable peace” in Ukraine without condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Russia continues to hold local elections in occupied regions of Ukraine, but Ukrainian partisans are doing all they can to disrupt the elections. A car carrying secure ballots was blown up near Nova Kakhovka and there are reports of Ukrainian residents spoiling ballots and setting fire to polling stations.
