Ukraine News
A prisoner exchange was supposed to be conducted but did not happen. Russia claimed that the airplane that was transporting the 65 Ukrainian POWs was shot out of the air by a Ukrainian missile. The plane was indeed shot down, but Ukraine claims that the plane was not carrying the POWs, but air defense missiles. Russia released the names of the alleged POWs on the plane, but at least one of them had been released in an earlier exchange. If the POWs were indeed on the plane, then Russia bears the blame by not informing Ukraine to ensure the safety of the airspace. Three of the six Russian crew members have been confirmed dead. President Zelensky has called on for an international investigation.
Ukrainian hackers conducted a devastating attack on a Russian intelligence platform that received and processed satellite information. The center’s supercomputer was made inoperable and cannot be restored resulting in the loss of $10 million worth of information.
